We woke Saturday to sunshine but cool temps. We chose a hike along the Blackwater Falls Gorge which didn’t have much elevation change but had a few nice overlooks of the gorge. We also took in Elakala Falls which is part of a tributary that flows into Blackwater Falls Gorge. The hike was mostly in the woods and there was a fair bit of mud, but it was a sunny day and we enjoyed our time in the forest.

After the hike we drove into Thomas, the closest town to the campground where we toured some stores and found a great coffee shop. Thomas is very artsy with a number of galleries and pottery shops down main street. When we were in Thomas we noticed a yoga studio, so we signed up for a class on Sunday morning – a great way to start the day!

After coffee, we did a quick tour of the town then headed back to camp for a quiet afternoon followed by an excellent meal of pork loin, baby potatoes and salad.
